The Fathers, Brother and Sisters of Holy Cross Priory, Nairobi
are happy to wish you a

Today we celebrate Jesus Christ's rising alive from the dead. We celebrate His Victory over death and over our sins. We celebrate His Triumph upon our souls to whom He opens the source of Grace and the gates of Heaven.
This year, three SSPX priests were present in Nairobi. This gave us the opportunity to have all the ceremonies of the Holy Week in the Solemn Traditional rite of the Catholic Church, with deacon and subdeacon.
These very beautiful ceremonies made us to follow every moment of Jesus's Life, during the Last Supper, His Agony, His Passion, His Death and His Resurrection.

The grotto of St Joseph, at the Priory during the month of March
To Thee, O Blessed Joseph, we have recourse in our tribulations, and, whilst imploring the aid of thy most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke thy patronage also. By that love, which united thee to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and by the fatherly affection with which thou didst embrace the Infant Jesus, we humbly beseech thee graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased by His Blood, and to help us in our necessities by thy powerful intercession.
Protect, O most provident guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen children of Jesus Christ. Ward off from us, O most loving father, all taint of error and corruption. Graciously assist us from Heaven, O most powerful protector, in our struggle with the powers of darkness and, as thou didst once rescue the Child Jesus from imminent peril to His life, so now defend the Holy Church of God from the snares of her enemies and from all adversity. Shield each one of us with thy unceasing patronage that, imitating thy example, and supported by thy aid, we may be enabled to live a good life, die a holy death, and secure everlasting happiness in Heaven. Amen.

On Palm Sunday, we'll celebrate Jesus's triumphant entry in Jerusalem with the blessing and the procession of the palms.
On Maundy Thursday, we'll celebrate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and Holy Orders during the Vesperal Mass, followed by the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of Repose.
On Good Friday, we'll commemorate the Passion and the Death of Our Lord with the Stations of the Cross and the Solemn Afternoon Liturgy.
On Holy Saturday, we'll celebrate the Holy Night of the Resurrection of the Lord with the Easter Vigil.
This year, we'll be 3 priests at Holy Cross, so that we'll have the opportunity to celebrate solemn ceremonies, with deacon & subdeacon.
And also, the priests are available for confessions all along the Holy Week.

The Sisters' and teachers' devotion to Holy Cross Academy

Sister Clara with her class 2 students
The first term of 2016 already comes to an end. At Holy Cross Academy, the children are writing their term exams.
Gently and joyfully, Fr. Peter, the School Director, has disposed everything needed for a good discipline: the ringing bell with its exact alarm clock, the classical music during the meals, the gaming area where the children can let off steam during recreation times... so many things that helps the children to keep calm and concentrate during the classes!
The five Kenyan teachers have never been so happy to teach! Two ladies teach the 3 Kindergarten classes, while a gentleman and two other ladies teach the 5 Primary classes. Everyone shows so much enthusiasm to have the best teaching skills!

The Missionary Sisters devote themselves completely to the various tasks, sometimes unnoticed, but so necessary for the good discipline and the good spirit of a school. They supervise the children's behaviour during meals, the tidiness of their clothes, the good Christian Charity in the recreation field. Every day, they lead the Morning Prayer in the chapel, and then give a catechism lesson in each classroom. And everybody, even the teachers themselves, enjoy to join them for the midday Rosary in front of the grotto!
